Slow night/day transition advice please!

Hi,

 

I'm using a Samsung SNB-7002P IP camera to relay the image of a theatre stage around the building. We normally use two cameras, one in colour and one in B/W so there are no transition issues once the lights go out so we can monitor scene changes etc.

In this case that is not possible and i need this single camera to do colour for the most part and B/W for the scene change moments. Going from night to day is fine (just!) taking about 7s but it takes ages - about 25secs to go from Day to night... I've been through the manual and think i've made it as quick as possible. these are what i believe to be the critical settings for this:

Dwell time: 5sec

Duration: fast

simple focus after D/N: off

 

Does anybody have any ideas on how to speed this up? All suggestions greatly appreciated.
