tricey 0 Posted June 13, 2014 Hi, Im new to this CCTV but basically a while ago I bought a Sunluxy CCTV kit that I have running 4 cams at the moment. But after many attempts I have never managed to view the cams online or on PC only through monitor on DVR. Yesterday I managed to get it working on the LAN network. So this means when I but the 192.168.x.x: into my browser when connected to the local network I can view my cams. I would now be very grateful if someone could explain to me how I can make this viewable when im out and about. I understand that I would not be able to do this from putting in the above I.P address in when not connected to the network. Any help would be hugely appreciated. Many Thanks Adam
MaxIcon 0 Posted June 14, 2014 To see your cams outside your local network, you need to port forward on your router/gateway. This assigns each camera's IP address to a port on your external IP address. Here's a web page that covers port forwarding for lots of routers: http://portforward.com/ Also, search on port forward or port forwarding on the forum; there are lots of posts on it.
