Chuts 0 Posted June 14, 2014 I've been going in circles for 3 weeks with the QSee tech support trying to get Remote Viewing working once more on my laptop. My system has been working for over a year. I had not checked remote viewing for about 2 months and when I did I found that the Internet IP had changed. No problem I thought, I'll simply use canyouseeme.org to get the new Internet IP. I did this once before with no problems. This time I could not get video using the new Internet IP. I could only get video using the local IP. Now QSee support wants me to update the firmware on the DVR because, he says, I'm using windows 8, in spite of the fact that I told him twice that I have always used Win 8 on this laptop to do remote viewing. From working with other computer techs, I know that updating firmware can sometimes lead to disastrous results and to me, in this situation, it does not call for a firmware update since everything worked before the Internet IP changed. What I see on the Web Service page when I try to do remote viewing is a list of the cameras and where the video should be is the big blue Q - the Quicktime logo. With the local IP, the Web Service page shows the video in the right hand panel. Thanks for any ideas towards a solution.
Chuts 0 Posted June 18, 2014 Can anyone suggest a forum where I might get some help with this? Thanks.
catseyenu 0 Posted June 18, 2014 Did you try the search box in the top right of your browser with "remote viewing" as your search term. There are several discussions of it already on this forum.
milkisbad 0 Posted June 19, 2014 Some screenshots of your problem would help... I mostly help with Hikvision stuff since I sell them for a living, and qsee uses Dahua... Sounds like you are using the wrong plugin when u use remote IP...Win 8 shouldn't be using QuickTime (which is for safari?) If you use IE, add the remote IP under compatibility setting under Tools. Usually fixes most browser problems. Last resort is to use the PSS software that should be in the CD.
