lmodric84 0 Posted June 16, 2014 hi all, my hikvision ip camera looks great during the day but really grainy at night. I've bought an IR illuminator (it's being shipped). Is the night graininess due to placing my camera too far in to the eave? Could that be the cause? thankyou http://postimg.org/image/tp0uenm49/
milkisbad 0 Posted June 16, 2014 Try to turn on Digital noise reduction to 100 when you login to the camera. Also if your gain is set to 100 it will be a bright picture but noisy as well. Once you get the IR it should help a bit just lower the gain once u have it.

Securame 0 Posted June 16, 2014 http://postimg.org/image/tp0uenm49/ Well, and why not post a capture of what the camera sees, instead of posting a picture of the actual camera...? Just saying...
smoothie2u 0 Posted July 10, 2014 You may want to check the DWDR (Digital Wide Dynamic Range) settings. Having DWDR active at night can cause the image to lose definition. I am no expert, just a thought.
joseph.chen0312 0 Posted July 14, 2014 Actually, as I learned, key issue is the cam is built-in fix lesn not Vari-focal for you aim ROI.
