4 Channel Active UTP Balun Help

Recommended Posts

Hello guys,

I am in the process of planning a surveillance installation with some cameras that will be installed at long distances from the DVR.

I've come across many solutions. I've recently stumbled upon a 4 channel active balun device pair which will transmit 4 BNC channels over 1 UTP cable for over 2400 meters.

My cameras will range between 1400-2000 meters. The listing is below. Tell me what you guys think. From the initial outlook, if the device works as advertised, it will save me loads on cabling.

I have always used addlestone kit for long distance- they usually have adjustments to compensate for high frequency loss and mid frequency loss which suffer over long distance, these adjustments allow you to reconstruct the signal. they are in the uk and have always been good on support.

take a look at video launch amplifiers on their web page and also the new product on this link:-

give them a call they are very helpful.

I wouldn't trust 2400m claim from a company at the other end of the world- my opinion.

at those distances it could be worth putting in fibre- no video loss at all they do an 8 channel over 1 fibre.
