ggenny 0 Posted June 26, 2014 Hello, sorry for my bad English. I Have a 16ChDVR. I don't know REAL MANUFACTURER ! I had telnet access without any problems, and I corrupt the bootloader or the existing software ( kt_dvr process ) when trying to install my own version of the software, developed by me. Now dvr stuck on Welcom screen. I noticed that the network card is active (even if no ip assigned) and the usb reads "something" if i insert an usb pen .... The problem is that I do not have much experience with these embedded systems and their mechanism of boot. The system software was very similar to this: I found online a procedure that would restore the firmware (the software "seems" to be it... seems.....), : View 16 Channels Remotely with the ZMD-DR-SFN6 View 16 Channels Remotely ZMD-DR-SFN6 Firmware Update Warning do not use this if you are running on a Mac! This firmware will make the DVR no longer work with your Apple Computer! Download the file located below: http://files.zmodo.com/Firmwares/DVRs/SFN6/SFN6_Update.zip Open the folder containing the downloated SFN6-Firmware-Update Right click on the SFN6-Firmware-Update folder and select Extract All Select, Browse, Desktop, Make New Folder Name the folder SFN6-Firmware-Update, select OK Select Extract Open the SFN6-Firmware-Update folder on the desktop Copy the three files onto an empty USB drive Power OFF the ZMD-DR-SFN6 Plug the USB drive ino one of the two USB ports on the front panel of the ZMD-DR-SFN6 Power ON the ZMD-DR-SFN6 The ZMD-DR-SFN6 will update, do NOT unplug the USB drive or power off the DVR Open the folder containing the downloated ActiveX Reset Script Select, Browse, Desktop, Make New Folder Name the folder ActiveX Reset Script, select OK Select Extract Open the ActiveX Reset Script folder on the desktop Right Click on Erase_IE_Control_V0.2 and select Run as administrator When prompted press any key and wait for the scan to finish Open IE, Firefox, or Chrome and log into the DVR the dvr read the usb pen for 20 seconds and then show welcom boot image, and remains blocked ... It is no longer under warranty ... i have original image of all memory partition: major minor #blocks name 31 0 2048 mtdblock0 31 1 6144 mtdblock1 31 2 7168 mtdblock2 31 3 128 mtdblock3 31 4 512 mtdblock4 31 5 128 mtdblock5 I do not care to restore my system to the setting of factory (if that is possible), I'd like a minimal version of Linux.
