venturis 0 Posted June 29, 2014 Anyone checked it to see what's new or different from 5.1.6? The beta firmware was replaced by the final (non-beta) release a few days ago. Downloaded but not had a chance to see how it differs from 5.1.6 or 5.1.2 for that matter.
venturis 0 Posted July 1, 2014 If everyone isn't already completely over hearing about new firmware for Hikvision cameras, the 5.1.4 firmware has been pulled from the USA ftp and been replaced with 5.1.6 today. Can't say if its the same as the 5.1.6 that appeared and disappeared from the European site but hopefully I'll have time to try it out in the next couple of days I hope. CBX 0 Posted July 1, 2014 Thanks... now where's that CBX critter, I'll have to get one of my cams Mericanized so I can play. I saw him around here somewhere. He looks a bit tired from lack of sleep though This 5.1.6 is different than the old 5.1.6. I'm not sure how though. Some release notes /change logs would be nice
catseyenu 0 Posted July 1, 2014 How can you tell, did the build number change? I wonder if they have or will put a tamper check in it...
L4HikOEM 0 Posted July 1, 2014 FYI: The Europe 5.1.6 caused motion detection recording on the 3MP Fixed domes to not record correctly, often giving a "HDD Full" error. USA 5.1.6 firmware has fixed this issue for me
CBX 0 Posted July 1, 2014 How can you tell, did the build number change?I wonder if they have or will put a tamper check in it... The md5sum is different. And a comparison shows it's not just a few bytes.

catseyenu 0 Posted July 2, 2014 Has anyone tried the new 5.1.6 on a CBX fixed camera? Can someone post the direct link or FTP site again? Thanks! ftp://ftp.hikvisionusa.com/
CBX 0 Posted July 2, 2014 Has anyone tried the new 5.1.6 on a CBX fixed camera? Yes. Tested on my own Chinese (made permanently English) camera. Comes up fine with no hacks needed.
mroek 0 Posted July 2, 2014 I have also updated my three Chinese cameras (region-changed by CBX) from the web-interface, no problems. I haven't tried any of the new features though, so all I can vouch for is that the actual update was flawless.
dan732 0 Posted July 2, 2014 I have a Chinese DS-2CD2332 Camera running 5.1.0 It will not detect motion/record to a Hikvision 9616-NI-SH NVR I have connected other cameras to the NVR and they work perfect running 5.0.0(china), 5.0.2 (china), and 5.1.0 (US Version Camera) work fine Should I upgrade this camera to 5.1.6 (or 5.1.2) Or downgrade to 5.0.0 or 5.0.2 and if so, what would be the best way so I don't either turn this camera into a paper weight or have to learn Chinese in order to set it up. ljw2k 0 Posted July 3, 2014 Whats the username/password to logon to the ftp as it will not login for me.
catseyenu 0 Posted July 3, 2014 Whats the username/password to logon to the ftp as it will not login for me. After you start FTP on the cam with the "setFtpService start" command in telnet the FTP uses "root" & IIRC "12345" as pw.
suzook 0 Posted July 3, 2014 hi there. Can someone post the user name and pw for the Hikvision FTP, not our cameras

catseyenu 0 Posted July 3, 2014 The CBX was about as smooth as it gets, thank you CBX! On the US FTP there is now a pdf document containing the release notes for the "new" 5.1.6. Excellent, thanks!

RDC 0 Posted July 3, 2014 This 5.1.6 is different than the old 5.1.6. I'm not sure how though. I couldn't see any difference between them. The only onscreen difference i noticed was a build change Firmware Version V5.1.6 build 140412 - OLD Firmware Version V5.1.6 build 140612 - NEW

Thank you I figured it out, I loaded 5.1.2 onto the camera, and did the "hack" and the camera works fine now. I originally tried 5.1.6 on the camera but night vision just seemed dark and day vision looked a little washed out. So it wasn't for me. Thank you
ljw2k 0 Posted July 4, 2014 I take it this US version won't work on a Chinese camera without the edited davinci file.
