kandcorp 0 Posted January 31, 2006 Is it possible to run 12VDC (Siamese) through the same 2"Conduit as a 220VAC line without interference?? The conduit is underground going through a Hotel parking lot about 15Feet to a huge light pole. I am leaning towards NO, but I need some input if someone has come across this same problem. Thanks
griffonsystems 0 Posted January 31, 2006 i ran into the same issue at a scrap yard install and we are going with fiber. running coax in the same pipe as 220 is not code and will give poor results
kandcorp 0 Posted January 31, 2006 Fiber is really not an option(no$), so I guess we will have to run another conduit or go aerial Thanks Though
rory 0 Posted January 31, 2006 I wouldnt do it ... what about wireless, once you have open air and get high enough could work? Probably cheaper to trench though ..
VST_Man 1 Posted February 1, 2006 someone on the forum ran video with AC power and did ground the cable at entry and exit to eliminate interf.....apparently worked well.....do a search, PM the originator
rory 0 Posted February 1, 2006 i did it with 115 and it worked, but it was a fluke, and no didnt ground anything ...
Cooperman 0 Posted February 2, 2006 Over such a short distance, if you use a very good quality double screened co-ax, it shouldn't be a problem (seperate cable for 12v). For a bit of cable costing next to nothing, it wouldn't hurt to try it.
