I am thinking of going with 2 of these systems because i would get more storage and save money. I did my research before but I have forgotten how this works LoL so it says 240 fps recording total, now does that include playback and live view? I would like to get 30 fps across all 4 cameras for recording/playback and live view for 2 weeks at a time... This seems like a great system but it does not give very much information unlike the other models who state... "Live display resolution: 1920 x 1080 (30fps per camera) Playback resolution: 1080p (1920 x 1080 120fps total/15fps per camera) Recording frame rate: 1080p (1920 x 1080 120fps total/15fps per camera)" If the SDI 8 channel 4 camera package says 120 fps total would that mean 15fps if you had 8 cameras hooked up or 15fps with only the 4 camera's it comes with? You would think they would make this a bit more clear for people who have never had one before. Thanx for any help!

As for the SDI DVR, since you are only using 4channels, it might be possible for you to allocate the full 30fps per camera in the SDI DVR settings.
300winmag 0 Posted July 2, 2014 Hi, Msecure It does look like a good deal then if does do it all at 30 fps. I'm not rockin the SDI, the less cable the better So 4 camera's at 30fps on 1080P recording 24/7.... How do you calculate the recording time again? Thanx for your help! MaxIcon 0 Posted July 3, 2014 I don't know anything about SDI, but for normal IP cams, you generally set the bit rate in the cam's configuration, and that sets the recording size. For example, using 4096 kbps bit rate: 4096kbps (bits)/8 = 512 kBps (bytes) 512 kBps x 60 = 31 MB/minute 31 MB/minute x 60 = 1.8 GB/hour, and so on.
