Hivision Serial Number change during firmware upgrade

Just wanted to share this

 

I did a firmware upgrade on DS2CD2032-I camera from 5.0.2 to 5.1.2

 

Old serial number DS-2CD2032-I20131218CCRR446005038

 

After upgrade serial number DS-2CD2032-I20131218CCCH446005038

 

Somehow the firmware changed the region of the serial number from RR to CH

 

I assuming the CH stands for China

 

And yes, this was a china cam

 

I just thought it was strange to see part of the serial change because of a firmware update.
