help with viewing my cctv (hikvision) on my ipad, phone

Recommended Posts

hi all, i need some help please, i installed a 5 hikvision camera set up today on my house. im really confused though as im trying to view the cameras on the ipad and windows phone and i cant.

ive been through countless youtube videos and forums trying to find my answer.

i can view them on my laptop when entering the ip address.

i struggling tryingt o get my head around how IP addresses work and what i need to forward, from what ive read if i go to cmd - ipconfig - and then my ipv4 address is showing thats the Ip address i need to put in the routers port forwarding section, ive got into my router (its a SKY broadband here in the UK) and forward ports 80 and put the lan address as the ipv4 adress in there

I even forward the RSTP port aswell.

theres an app for the hikvision but i dont know what i need to put where

alias.....

register mode..... HiDDNS / IP/Domain / IP server

server address.........

identifier.........

user name........

password.....

do i need the ip address from the config above or do i need to find my public address

i even logged onto the www.hikvisioneurope.net which is thr DDNS management tool and set up a device gave it a name, put the serial number in and http port of 80, shows the device as offline though.

can anyone point me in the right direction, starting to feel that ive bitten off more than i can chew as i dont really understand it even though as i say ive watched lots of youtube vids etc

Im assuming you setup is a POE setup.

alias.....(whatever you want to name it your choice)

register mode..... HiDDNS / IP/Domain / IP server (nothing here)

server address......... (the Ip address of whichever camera you want to add keep in mind that each camera has its own ip address)

identifier......... (the port assigned to it)

user name........(your username or admin by defult)

password.....(your password or 12345 by default)

all this can be change with the installation disk the cameras came with.

Im a noob and this is how I got mine going on my iphone. My cameras are POE so hope this helps.

Stolt - did you get this working? Any other "tips or tricks" you have learned from this?

I just ordered my first HK camera and thinking about how to get the SW working to stream to my iphone and ipad as well.

Thanks! --Clay
