venturis 0 Posted July 9, 2014 Nice work but does this actually make the camera an English camera in the same way that the firmware hack does? The firmware hack or the CBX conversions turns the camera into an English/US model which means that it can be used with iVMS4200 which blocks the use of Chinese cameras. If the mod essentially substitutes the menu items for English rather than Chinese it is likely the camera will still be recognized by iVMS4200 and even the firmware updates as a Chinese model. Looks like he's edited the .xml file, deleting one folder and renaming the other to the deleted one? No. This is a file hack that will not survive a firmware change, mine is a factory region change which is independant of what firmware you put on.
