hadi 0 Posted February 2, 2006 As mentioned in the DVR(panasonic HD500) operation manual instruction (page 24) , I suppose it will be plug & play and only required to connect the DVR & PC via Cable RS232C. aaron.saks 0 Posted February 3, 2006 The HD500 is a stand alone unit. If you want to remotely view the unit, you can connect it to a network, or directly with a PC using a crossover network cable. Make sure that your IP settings are correct to communicate to the DVR. IE If your DVR is set to 192.168.0.10, set your PC to 192.168.0.11. The serial cable is just for the Administrator Console software. This is used to make a backup of the programming, or program the DVR from a PC offline.
