Just bought my first NVR how to add more camera's?

Just bought a Hikvision Ds-7608 which has 8 channels and 4 POE ports.

 

I have 4 Hikvison 2032's and you connect those to the POE ports.

 

But what not to sure about how do you make use of the other 4 channels?

You would have to buy a PoE switch that has at least 4 PoE ports and connect that to your network, same one as the NVR. Then you add the cameras manually with the IP you set for the camera. You can find and set the camera IP using the included SADP program.

Wired IP Cameras should be picked up if they are connected to the same network as the NVR as long as your router is set to DHCP.

I really like the 2032s.. the colors are very brilliant and night vision is clear.
