Powering the DVR on and off

Recommended Posts

Is it OK to power my DVR that I use for security cameras off during the day when I don't need it to run? I have been told powering it on and off will shorten the life of the DVR?

To make it easier for yourself so you don't have to worry to remember to turn it on, you can set it up in scheduling so that it only records at night.

Because during the day I am home, I only need it at night, thanks for the reply back.

Even being home your system can still do it's job if something happends.

Is the reason because you have indoor cameras or in and outside £££ you can switch just internal cameras off

You may consider setup recording timeline, day is recording and night w/o recording then you will not see anything.

I wish I knew how to do that Joseph
