CAM 0083G/RJ11/2.8

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have 2 cameras that just have a sticker on them saying this:

CAM 0083G/RJ11/2.8

Lens: 2.8-12mm

System: PAL

Power: DC12v/700ma

These cameras are grey eyeball dome cameras and have manual focus and zoom screws on opposite sides.

There is only 1 cable coming out of the camera with 6 coloured wires: 1 x black,1 x black with white stripe, 1 x red, 1 x red with white stripe, 1 x white and 1 x yellow and the connector(s) have been cut off.

I also have a role of shotgun cable. This has a coaxial cable on one side and power cable on the other with just a red and black cable.

Please can you tell me which wires to connect where? I assume that the red and black wires and red with white stripe and black white white stripe are the power to the IR led's and camera? The reds should be joined together from the power source and the blacks joined together from the power source?

What about the yellow and white? I assume they connect to the coaxial cable where the yellow cable is the centre wire and the white connects to the outer braid?

Your help is appreciated.

If I had to guess on which wires went where, I'd say you're probably right on guessing the blacks and black/whites are negative power and the reds and red/whites are positive power. Which leaves the yellow and white for video.

Probably your only choice now is to experiment.

If you're right on the power, the video is easy to just try each polarity.

If you have nothing to loose, you can try opening up one of the cameras and tracing the wires.
