hpa 0 Posted July 23, 2014 Hi guys, Is it possible to use DVI cable as an extension for geovision card? My room is a little messy because of the 16 cable attach to my PC and I want to use DVI cable and hide the other. But Im confuse about what DVI cable to use. My geovision manual says that my GV-1120A Card is a D-type DVI (although it has 29 hole) input so I presume I have to use a 24+1 pin D-type DVI cable. But i count the pin of my GV-PT-DVI Video Dongles and it has 24+5 pin which mean it is DVI-I dual link? My question is which of the ff cable should i buy: 1.DVI-I (female) to DVI-D (Male) 2.DVI-I (Female) to DVI-I (Male) 3.DVI-D (Female) to DVI-D-I (Male) The first 2 DVI cable is not available in local store and expensive that I have to order it through Online. The third cable is cheap assuming that I m supposed to cut the extra 4 pin in my 29 pin GV-PT-DVI Video Dongles. tnx.
