NEWBIE LOOKING FOR OPINIONS ON COMEPLETE PACKAGE

I am willing to spend $1000-$1500 for a 4-8 camera system.

 

I like this sytstem but do not know for sure if it is a fair price. I am open to pieceing together my own dedicated system. This will be stand alone and not run on a PC

if not one of these - where can i buy a good system

 

i want 8 cameras someday, so i want to buy 8-channel now and if i cant afford the last 4 cameras i will add on later

First off, note that the top link you posted is for an nvr and 4 ip MP cameras where the 2nd link is dvr with 8 analog cameras.

The ip systems revuews seem very good. If you do go that route, make sure that you will be able to add more cameras if desired. Also be aware that you may only be able to add that particular brand or a limited selection of other brands.

 

Have you looked the route of Dahua or Hikvision for nvrs and ip cameras. They both have a good selection, are fairly priced and are dependable.
