pipabix 0 Posted August 4, 2014 ok, PC parts bought and Built, win 8.1 I bought 1 hikvision ds-2cd2032-i with English firmware I bought 1 wall plug type plug in that powers 1 cam and sends data to PC. played around the camera settings on IE 11. great little camera. changed the IP address on camera, changed the 4 ports to 5001,5002,5003,5004, even though I don't think it matters when im going using Milestone. downloaded the Milestone pack, found my camera straight away.. I have the camera working on the xprotect mgt application, I have it working on the smart client 2014, I can see it on the web client (same pc as the above) Questions Milestone Mobile/web client (from another PC outside the home) .. . having trouble here. in relation to IP and ports. first I will list my IP addresses (that I know of) to make it easier for referencing. 1, The IP address when I put IPconfig in to cmd on the PC 2, The IP address I get when I go to "whats my IP address on google. 3, The IP address for the camera itself 4, The IP address for my DSL Router Let me know if I have any missing from the above. now where to put them , in the management application, down the left side of the tree, "server access", its set to port 80, then I have internet Access ticked, but what IP address goes in there from the above list? 1,2,3,4? Internet port is 8081, Then I go to my DSL Router, (Eircom Ireland) for port forwarding. heres what I need to fill in, (if someone could help me with this please) service type select from a list www/https/ftp etc. . about 10 to pick from : External start port : External end port : IP address : Protocol TCP/UDC : Open start port : open end port : Now ive been reading on here a lot, have had great help from reading user posts, even opened the port 80 on windows 8.1. but I just cant connect. I even lowered the firewall on the router to low, and even turned it off . Im the type that will keep at this around the clock until I get it,. . the wife is even getting cheesed off with nothing done. . any guidance would be appreciated, thanks Pips

voip-ninja 0 Posted August 4, 2014 One potential problem you could be running into is that some internet service providers block port 80 access to prevent their residential/non-commercial customers from running web servers on their home networks that can be connected to from the Internet. pipabix 0 Posted August 4, 2014 would changing from the port from 80 to say 85 work?
pipabix 0 Posted August 4, 2014 all out of ideas here, mobile phone app says unable to connect to server. on the pc, under management "server access", the local port is set to 83 and then internet port is 8081. I have opened (inbound) ports on windows 83,8081 I am assuming the details for the app is the external IP on . .. google + port 8081 the user name and password is what I have set up in basic user in milestone, under mobile server credentials the server URL is the IP in the server access followed by :83 again, username and password is the one created on the user section (its not a windows one) perhaps buellwinkle might confirm, but am I right in thinking that if I have all working on the "xprotect web client" working on other pcs/laptops in the house, then the problem must be the router no? buellwinkle 0 Posted August 5, 2014 You need 8081 for the mobile app (without SSL) and the web client. You need 8082 if you use SSL in the web client.
