LittOmAlt 0 Posted August 6, 2014 Hi Thanks for being a member here! My question is what router is best for my case. I have 8 IP cameras PoE or 12V powered, HD quality. 4 cameras connected to Router1, and 4 cameras for Router2. Router1 don't have internet connection. Pictures from Router1 is sent wirelessly to router2, distance about 100 m (330 feet) Router2 connected to internet, ADSL or GSM Router2 connected to DVR1 recorder. Router2 has also 4 cameras In Office i have DVR2 live backup, and also remote control. Please see drawing in attachment. So what do I need? It would me nice if router had possibility for external antenna since equipment will me mounted in a box, for outdoor use. Can you confirm that Router1 and 2 needs to bee in bridge mode? Thanks in advance TO
jenova314 0 Posted August 15, 2014 I actually have a collection of DD-WRT routers doing exactly this. You need to set router1 to "client bridge" (CB) mode. I'm not sure why you would want the CB to have 10.0.0.1, since it's not your gateway, but so long as router1 and router2 have different IPs, that's fine. What Hardware do you use for the DD_WRT routers, and witch version of dd-wrt do you run? Since you comment on IP address, I dont realy know the difference, and i also dont understand gateway vs client IP. So if I could get a better understanding of it I assume it would be important to know before i do the fysikal installation on site. LoA
