Geo loop through card + Hybrid card problem

I have just recently built 2 identical geo machines for a customer consisting of the following.

 

1 x GV1480

3 x Hybrid Mpeg 2 cards

1 x Loop through card

 

Motherboard is a Asus p5p800, 1gb ram P4 3.0 etc

 

when all these geo products plugged together I found that I was unable to get all channels to record successfully.

 

I kept getting only 12 out of 16 cameras working, then after adjusting some settings and (as crazy as this sounds) screwing the octi cable a bit tighter which our techo stupidly left loose I found I got 15 channels reording

 

After much frustration I removed the Loop through card. and success, all began to work.

 

Can anyone shed any light on this configuration. .
