mpjf 0 Posted August 9, 2014 hi, I installed 8 cameras at home and used one power supply for each camera. By connecting one of the cameras I was wrong to connect the power wires (not used BNC). Instead of connecting + with + i conected + with - and the camera did not power on. when I noticed that the camera was incorrectly connected I switched the wires to the correct position. But now the camera's always black and white. Infrared is always connected. Have burned the light sensor?? and now the camera does not detect the light of day and is always black and white ??? will the camera give color if change the Borad Illuminator?? sorry for my english... Numb-nuts 1 Posted August 9, 2014 Presumably the account which you are logging into has the required permissions set? Are you seeing the overlay display ( clock channel name) but not the picture
adamxp12 0 Posted August 9, 2014 You more than likely fried the photocell that turns the IR lights on at night
tomcctv 190 Posted August 10, 2014 Hi. Could be a few things First camera position. Is it in a good light area Bad negative on power (getting from bnc) Also try as a test shine flashlight into camera see if goes colour Also can you give camera details. You might have duel voltage and with connecting power wrong you may have damaged 12v side (also not giving negative).
the toss 0 Posted August 10, 2014 If it is a duel voltage camera (12Vdc/24Vac) then it will not matter if you connect the DC reverse polarity. If it is a 12Vdc camera it will have a diode in the power leg to prevent damage from reverse polarity power, unless it is a cheap piece of junk.
mpjf 0 Posted August 10, 2014 the camera is a 12V only and its a cheap camera of 40€. The other 7 cameras works fine but the camera that i change the wires only works at black and white. The IR are always on. The led board has 3 pins conectors if i disconect the yellow on it gives color and the ir stais on but at night the camera doesnt chang to night vision I think i reali fried someting but dont now what

adamxp12 0 Posted August 11, 2014 You more than likely fried the photocell that turns the IR lights on at night i think you`re right. Can i buy photocell online?? thanks Yes you can buy them they are usually referred to as a ldr (light dependent resistor) the only problem is they come in different resistance values so you would have to find out which ldr you have in your camera
mgb 0 Posted August 11, 2014 Replacing the photocell would depend on your abilities with electronics. You would have to unsolder the old one and solder in the new one.
