Dirk_D 0 Posted August 14, 2014 how do you know when a VGA amplifier will be needed vs a splitter? My application is 1 monitor 20' away and the other 35'. The signal will be coming from a ESDV-NVRX-
Numb-nuts 1 Posted August 16, 2014 its a question of 'suck it and see' but usually a VGA splitter can amplify up to 60 M. The manufacturer often says so on the box too, these can be had very cheaply in the UK, whereas the type amplifier you are talking about that has a sender and reciever can send the signal considerably further but the cost id again significantly more. Having said that, I have had more success with the latter type being far more predictable and reliable. It may be case of you get what you pay for. I bought some cheap Chinese ones on ebay and they all ended up in a skip as they didn't even work to 10m. The ones I buy in the UK ynamode: work very nicely but are more expensive as you might expect.
