agcsr25 0 Posted August 17, 2014 The more I read in this forum the more questions I have so please bear with me. Background....residential system with six axis p3367ve cameras and five axis p3364v cameras. Was planning on using stand alone pc (i7 with 24 gigabytes ram, 256 gb ssd for vms and 2tb 7200 rpm hd for recording) as server running axis camera station which is their full blown vms(not their free camera companion) but reviews of 3rd party mobile app (eyespyfx) is horrendous. I need to be able to view cameras through mobile app when alert is sent. I see milestone appears to be regarded well here as well as exacq. Many here also seem to recommend avigilon alot but most of them seem to have an avigilon affiliation imho. Thoughts on which vms keeping in mind which cameras I'm using. Finally, some have mentioned issues with motion detection on axis cameras. Does downloading axis' video motion detection 2.1 address this or am I better off using motion detection on the vms side? Sorry about the long winded post but wanted to get all pertinent facts out. Thanks. Regards, Andy

thewireguys 3 Posted August 18, 2014 If you have time you can demo them all and see which works the best for needs/wants.
agcsr25 0 Posted August 18, 2014 If you have time you can demo them all and see which works the best for needs/wants. I realize this is the best thing to do but I guess I was just too excited trying to get the ideal design correct from the start. I will just have to slow down and do some demos. Any thoughts on the motion detection and axis cameras?

Any thoughts on the motion detection and axis cameras? I maintain Systems with thousands of P3367s and 3364s using Avigilon as the VMS. Motion detection is not an issue at all. Exacq requires annual maintenance fees Avigilon does not. I have nothing to gain by recommending Avigilon to you. Yes I work for an integrator that sells it but they also sell Genetec Security Center, and others. I have Casinos, Universities, Hospitals, State Goverment, and Large corporations on Genetec and Avigilon. I chose Avigilon in my own home and I had to pay for it.
