halgreene 0 Posted August 31, 2014 Hi, Can anyone recommend a decent NVR for a 2-camera POE system (or just a couple of POE cams, if this functionality can be achieved with cams alone) that have alarm inputs such that when the alarm triggers (and ONLY when the alarm triggers), the NVR (or cam) starts recording? When the alarm resets the NVR or cam should stop recording. Thanks! Hal
abdelm01 0 Posted September 15, 2014 I would go with HikVision cameras, you can get that to work with only the cameras and also the NVR, are you and on some the cameras you can put an SD card in it to record locally, up to a 64GB SD card on some cameras, but if you want to keep video for a long period i would recommend you get a 4CH-NVR so you can put in a HDD to your need and size and record on motion with alarm, there are alarm inputs on the back of the NVR where you would input your alarms
Bhawan 0 Posted September 23, 2014 I would recommend a 4 Channel NVR system. You can buy with POE already built in. You will also add HDD to this for recording. I recommend TVT , Dahua and Hikvision as reliable brands. lmk if you need more specifics on which camera and NVR to choose but almost all standard NVR's have an Alarm motion recording function which is very standard. Securame 0 Posted October 7, 2014 (edited) I would recommend you a software solution which allows you to connect to as many Onvif, RTSP or USB cameras as you want. It has many great features for alarm handling as well. It is a Camera SDK (edited) and it can detect motion detection, and when the motion was detected than it can call many different phone numbers via SIP, it can record video, take snapshot, send Contact ID message, Email the recorded video or FTP upload it. The SDK has features like: - Connect to USB cameras - Connect to RTSP or Onvif cameras - Display 4 camera image simultaneously (or more with a little bit of coding) - Server mode - Motion detection - Image and video capture - Alarm SIP call - Display camera image on website etc. You can download the SDK and use the Onvif IP Camera Manager program or you can create your own application. Strange that you still have not been banned, hope it doesn't take too long. Edited October 9, 2014 by Guest
