SWANN DVR is clicking and not recording?!

I have had a 4 channel SWANN H.264 DVR for 6 months. It was working fine but it has now stopped recording and now when it detects a motion, the DVR makes an strange clicking sound for the length of time that it should be recording. Is it broke or have I done something?

Check the status of the hard drive. I'm just guessing...but it probably says "error."
