Dirk_D 0 Posted September 7, 2014 Why do some routers lag so bad while forwarding ports? Multiple tries, different browsers, cycling the power on the routers...... any ideas?
ssnapier 0 Posted September 7, 2014 This is not something I have experienced, do you mean at the time you set them up? I would think maybe this type of thing would be a symptom of firmware with a memory leak, but perhaps I am not clear on what you mean.
Dirk_D 0 Posted September 7, 2014 it just took forever to recognize commands...... enter the info, hit submit, comes back up filled out the same but missing the start & end ports but the type & ip info was still there. Then try to go back to see the ports that are there and click wait/wait/wait/wait/wait/etc/timeout. Just slow.
ssnapier 0 Posted September 8, 2014 What brand / model of router are we talking about? Are you talking to it on a direct conneciton or wireless?
thewireguys 3 Posted September 8, 2014 Yea sounds like a cheap residential router.
Don Stephens 0 Posted September 8, 2014 I'm also tempted to assume that it's a very cheap/basic router. I'd be curious to know what the make and model it is though.
Numb-nuts 1 Posted September 10, 2014 You can buy a Netgear router for very little money, I would say if there is a chance it might solve your problem, it's definitely worth a go wouldn't you say? I like Netgear routers, they are easy to work with, they are well featured and they port forward very easily which is 99% of what I need to do with routers.
