booncek 0 Posted September 8, 2014 I have a strange situation when I installed a new camera. There is a camera with 2 pairs of wire. 1 pair goes to video, 1 pair goes to power. When I install a new camera, I cut the existing old power wire and attach it to the new camera as a video signal. And at the end of the wire I attach it to a balun and to a DVR. I add a new power source to the old and new camera. The problem occurred: 1. At DVR, the video signal(picture) are the same for both camera. 2. Even though I off the power, the new camera still got video signal shown in DVR.
Otto 0 Posted September 16, 2014 You may have crossed your video pairs together. Or somewhere down the line of the cable is damaged and crossing into each other. try moving the positions on the dvr if it shows up on ch 8 put it on ch 1.
