tosodj 0 Posted September 15, 2014 Hi to all, I need to setup a new CCTV deployment do monitor the externarl perimeter of my house. I have some problems on installing cabled cameras so I will prefer to use wireless cameras: is this a good solutions? I am thinking to place the access point in the garage and to place each camera far from it about 15 meters: it this distance right or not? Can you guide me on the right deployment? Thanks a lot Bye
ssnapier 0 Posted September 15, 2014 Wireless is tricky for CCTV and 15 meters could be problematic for most consumer grade wireless equipment. What is the problem with running cabling? Each camera will still require power, so you are not avoiding all wires. I would encourage you to try and avoid a purely wireless if possible.
tosodj 0 Posted September 15, 2014 The mail problem is to burrow the garden... About the power, I can take it from a line I have in the garden...
ssnapier 0 Posted September 15, 2014 As long as you have a clear line of sight between the router and the camera that can be done.
