Swann NVR cameras

Hi, new to this forum. I do not generally deal with open market package camera and DVR systems. I stick to Panasonic and Wirepath systems because I integrate them into Control4 systems.

 

But, my wife's boss really wanted me to install cameras at the their office and then his home . He purchased all of the equipment thru Costco and I installed it and set up all of his tablets and phones.

 

The most recent is the install of a Swann NVR system at his home. System works fine as far as Swann cameras go but he purchased a 8 camera NVR with 4 cameras . Now he would like to add the other 4 and wants to use some (higher quality cameras) . I cannot find any options online on Swanns website for add on Ip cameras. There are options for DVR BNC connection cameras but not NVR IP. My question is can I use another brand with better quality?

 

From what I could see of the provided IP cabling that came with the package set, they are using 2 pair of the cat5 for video and 2 pair for power. Or does anyone know a model number for a wide angle ip thru swann ?

You can purchase HikVision Cameras. Swann Cameras are basically HikVision Cameras. You can also look around for Cameras that are ONVIF compatible and it should work. Also I'm not sure if your NVR gives out POE, if it does then you would not need to run a power cable.

Thanks. Yes, it is POE , just unsure on any upgrade options for additional cameras. I will look at the HIKVISION>

Swann is a copy of Dahua

you can buy just Swann products as well not through costco.

I work with the distributor here for Swann and can arrange for just cameras.

But any DAHUA cameras will suit you just fine.
