xavier4or 0 Posted September 24, 2014 Is there a way i can use my external IP and ports forward to configure my iVMS 4200 for outside the house? Similar usage as iVMS 4500... Has anyone tried this? Thanks!
NolliTV 0 Posted September 24, 2014 Is there a way i can use my external IP and ports forward to configure my iVMS 4200 for outside the house? Similar usage as iVMS 4500... Has anyone tried this? Thanks! Two qualities about doing that: It's easy and It's a lot of work via VPN which in itself is a nightmare as you need to be wiling to learn network engineering. Because of the VPN, I have not completed mine as yet...I'm still diagnosing issues in order to use multi-platforms, such as IOS, Android, MacOS, Windows, etc., while learn the robust Mikrotik router. xavier4or 0 Posted September 24, 2014 I thought about the VPN way - but is there a way to do this via the external IP?
Antitrust 0 Posted September 27, 2014 There is a configuration option to set up DDNS on iVMS 4200. I use this on a per camera basis rather than through iVMS but I imagine it would be the same and probably easier with a large deployment. All you would need to do is port forward to your PC and register that device on hikvisions DDNS site. I guess then you could maybe use iVMS 4500 or iVMS 4200 client, but not entirely sure.
