Well, I actually could have said "you can use an AP to turn any wired network device into a wireless network device (DVR, network camera, or whatever)". I think it can be understood

i dont have internet connected to the machine i was asking if i can use a wifi connection from my neighbor as we can not run cables on the rented premises

As I said, you can do it. If you have the password of your neighbour's wifi, and the router password so you can open ports, that is.

And the knowledge to do it, of course....
