littlejohn62 0 Posted October 3, 2014 Hello, I am a newbie and this is my first post. Can anyone tell me why camera manufacturers put the joystick so close to the camera? I would think it makes more sense to have it on the other end of the cable closer to the DVR. Does anyone know how to move this so it is inside the house and a person can make adjustments at the DVR? Is it possible? littlejohn62
Securame 0 Posted October 3, 2014 Buy cameras that support UTC.
Securame 0 Posted October 3, 2014 "Up the coax". You will be able to control the OSD menus on the cameras from the DVR end of the cable.
Billy_ICU 0 Posted October 4, 2014 It is especially stupid for outside cameras which are designed to be mounted over the hole for the wire - need to stuff wire into hole/wall before mounting camera.
littlejohn62 0 Posted October 9, 2014 Unfortunately, the UTC control does not handle a digital signal and therefore won't work on my cameras or so I was told by my camera manufacturer. I still have my fingers crossed that someone has found a method to operate the joystick on SDI cameras at the DVR.
