margioa 0 Posted October 6, 2014 Hi all, I am new to this awesome forum and this is my first time posting here. I am practically starting CCTV installations, still learning and wishing to learn more from all of your advices. I need to install in about a week a new CCTV system with 8 channels. So far, I have been acquiring products @ 123securityproducts.com. I have two DVRs more less selected: 1.) https://www.123securityproducts.com/srd-840-1tb.html or 2.) https://www.123securityproducts.com/ecor960-8f-1t.html I wanted to know which one would you select and why? As per cameras I have these two models: 1.) https://www.123securityproducts.com/cbhde21nl.html 2.) https://www.123securityproducts.com/ctts502vr72.html same question as before? Thank very much. captainvideo 0 Posted October 10, 2014 the Samsung dvr is old news and the everfocus dvr is not far behind . both of these dvr's will lock you into using standard definition camera's . I would take a good look at your hi def options . you should consider hd-sdi . like the ctw-dvr608hdsdi/1.5u would be a reasonably priced good quality hd-sdi dvr . as far as cam's. ctw-hdir43/2812 varifocal bullet or ctw-hdd142/2812 varifocal turret. if your budget is tight or tighter than hd-sdi . you can still get hi def with a hd-cvi system . 1080p hd-cvi is a little less expensive than hd-sdi but 720p hd-cvi is about half the price of hd-sdi and less expensive than everything you were looking at . also at least double the resolution . dan732 0 Posted October 16, 2014 I would look at IP Cameras HD-SDI HD-CVI Seem like old news Might be a good choice if the BNC cable is already there and the client does not want to pay to pull it out and install CAT5e/CAT6, but in new installs I would look at IP Cameras from Hikvision or other know manufacturers
captainvideo 0 Posted October 18, 2014 im pretty sure hd-cvi is fairly new news . hi def resolution , DIY plug and play install . AND WAY LESS EXPENSIVE THAN IP ! for most homeowners its a no brainer . unless that homeowner is a computer/ip geek on a mission to test his skills .
