pip-belfast 0 Posted October 7, 2014 hi all, 1st of all glad to be onboard. secondly I have a problem with a swann h-264 dvr system, I have had it for 18 months with no problems but had a major incident on my premises last night and when I went to view it on the hard drive it comes up no files. I searched events list and for some reason the last files recorded are from 2 days before the incident. just to give a bit of info, the device is set to record 24/7 and override is selected so it will always record (which it always has). any ideas as to why it has stopped and more importantly is there by any chance it has recorded to somewhere else on the hard drive? im clutching at straws I think but as I say it was a major incident and the reason I paid so much for a system to meet my needs only for it to let me down the 1 time I really needed it. any advice much appreciated
captainvideo 0 Posted October 12, 2014 did the hard drive stop working ? have you been able to get the dvr to record again since the trouble ? check the user log and see if someone accessed the dvr around the time it stopped recording . aka inside job . even if you think no one else has access . hence , the importance of keeping passwords secret and setting up separate user accounts and administrative accounts .
