Rastus 0 Posted October 15, 2014 We have an Optiview VR LT (one hard drive) series embedded DVR. It's been good and reliable for 2 years. We are now getting a warning buzzer stating the hard drive is bad. I feel confident I can replace the hard drive. If I do that, common sense tells me that the GUI and OS will be lost. Is that correct or is it stored somewhere else? What's the best way to replace the hard drive and have it operational when I'm done? Thank you.
Don Stephens 0 Posted October 15, 2014 System information/settings, GUI, etc...are stored elsewhere. You're good to just swap out the hard drive without losing anything other than the recorded video that may be on that drive. Just replace the drive with something compatible.
