schnax 0 Posted October 20, 2014 Hi, being new to security cameras we're in the process of planning to deploy several IR PTZ cameras outdoors. They're rated for -30 Celsius which is fine for most of the time. A few times during winter we gets cold snaps of -40 Celsius that last a few days. My questions is what will this do to the cameras? Will they just stop working and continue once it's warms up again? Will there be any physical damage to the camera? Thanks for any advise.
the toss 0 Posted October 21, 2014 The camera will set it's own ambient temperature within the housing. It's self warming. The biggest danger is if power is removed & re-applied numerous times thus causing physical stress on the components
