kandcorp 0 Posted February 14, 2006 Came across this Biometric "all in one" HDD http://www.aimgene.com/html/bioHarddisk-3.5.htm Pretty nice product line. Anyone ever use these products?
Jasper 0 Posted February 14, 2006 Nope. But I would research how really effective it is before I bought one. I know fingerprint readers used to be easily defeated. Don't know if that is the case anymore?
JMANOFNVS 0 Posted February 15, 2006 I have seen them and many other products that use finger prints. The trick is how many points they check for. Older readers use to only check 4-6 points but now the good ones check 8-10 so its more secure. They have the technology to do I believe 14-16 but thats to sensitive so they slightest bit of dust or moisture will deny access. Retinal recognition is less faulty and more secure. kandcorp 0 Posted February 15, 2006 Yea, but having the retinal scanner shoot me in the eye with the laser, not the best feeling. Freaked me out first time I tried.
