Soulcam 0 Posted October 24, 2014 Because there is so much competition in the CCTV market no standards exist for usability. Every company tries to re-invent the wheel and provide their own user interface and concept of how footage should be accessed. As a result most companies lack expertise in this area and we are left with terrible software, clunky interfaces, poor design choices, confusing setup and access, inferior options, etc etc etc. I'm looking for a very well polished software suite to accompany their system. The current system I have now is absolutely ridiculous. There are so many hurdles and peculiarities you have to jump through to get access to anything. You really scratch your head and wonder "what the hell were they thinking when they designed this?" <--- That is what I want to avoid. Does anyone have a recommendation for a camera system with an emphasis on clean logical and user friendly software design? carrot 0 Posted November 12, 2014 one of my fav software was by TBT (Orbix / nubix) Unfortunately they closed down and dont stock DVR anymore.. So it looks like if I buy an IP camera then my options for software are much larger since any IP cam should be compatible with most any IP cam software. It looks like there's a lot of good contenders out there plus it gives me the option to switch to competitors without having to replace any hardware.
