debre_neo 0 Posted November 1, 2014 Hi guys, I recently bought DS-7104HWI-SL and configured it to be remotely accessible. I use real IP 92.247.230.125 for the router (the dvr is behind this router) with http port 81 and RTSP Port 554 both ports are oppened and forwarded - i checked this using http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ When I try to connect using iVMS4000 (windows7) it can't connect and it says connection timed out. I tried both ports with no success. I tried to connect with iOS version - iVMS-4500 and i had the same problem. I can see the dvr using browser and port 81, but i want to view the cameras with my phone. Can you help me with that? Is there any other port I need to open, or some special configuration i need to do?

debre_neo 0 Posted November 1, 2014 I am using the public address. I am able to access it using web browser, even from external network. But when i use the program iVMS-4000 it just can't connect. I tried both ports 81 and 554. Any help is appreciated.

I believe ivms requires port 8000 to be forwarded as well...actually it doesnt even need the http port...check the manual for the "media port" it should be 8000 by default... debre_neo 0 Posted November 1, 2014 Indeed the http port is not required. However there is no configuration for "media port" in the dvr (DS-7104HWI-SL), only "RTSP Port" which is 554 (by default). Do you think there is any configuration i might be missing, for this "media port"? I checked the traffic, using wireshark and it looks like it only uses 81 and 554 ports, there are no requests to port 8000.

Web port (for accesing from IE, Chrome, Firefox, etc), RTSP port (for video streaming), and data port (for iVMS client). If you do not forward data port, you won't be able to access the device remotely. For some reason, data port can not be changed from the web interface. You will have to change it either locally (mouse and screen attached to the DVR), or from iVMS. On iVMS you have to configure the data port (Device port on the screenshot). Also, there is no reason why you would still use iVMS-4000, it is very outdated. Yse iVMS-4200.
