generatorlabs 0 Posted November 13, 2014 I have a 32 channel Pelco active hub and I would like to utilize it with a 16 Channel Lorex system. The model of the active hub is PELCO CM9700UTP32US-S. I want to run the cameras over longer distances (300-500ft) using existing Cat6 cable. I was hoping to use the active hub next to the DVR and 16 passive baluns at the cameras. The cameras are described as 700TVL Resolution using an advanced new 960H Image Sensor. My question is this: Is there anything particularly unusual about what I am attempting? Will the Pelco unit accept the signal with no problem? Is there anything proprietary about the Lorex cameras that would prevent this. The cameras have typical BNC connectors and barrel power connectors. The reason I ask this is because I get the impression that the newer higher res analog cameras need special active baluns. Is this true? I will be using a 16 channel power supply to power the cameras over the Cat6 as well. Thanks Daniel
