FearThisInc 0 Posted November 26, 2014 Hello All.. I am new here and trying to get ready for an install.. A buddy of mine was able to get me a great deal on some cameras and now trying to figure out what the best NVR will be to pair them up with.. They are all HIK Vision 3mp cameras.. They are a mix of the dome and bullets.. The model numbers are DS-2CD2732F-I and DS-2CD2632F-I.. There are a total of 16 cameras.. I havn't hooked them all up yet but I want to get the best bang out of the cameras so I am willing to spend money on the NVR.. I was looking around online but there are so many conflicting statements.. I want to be able to record in the best resolution (no meaning the best available option but high enough resolution that picture quality does not suffer) and would look to have recordings saved for 30 days.. Any help would be appreciated...
Boogieman 1 Posted November 26, 2014 If you are going to use a standalone NVR use a hikvision NVR...there are a bunch of models, research and compare the specs...DO NOT buy an NVR from another manufacture...it will only cause trouble.. Your other option is to use pc-nvr software...IVMS from hikvision is free. Other options include milestone, exacq and blue iris (blue iris will require a modern 4th generation i5 but preferably i7 pc for 8 cameras)...the other software can run on an i3 or less because they use in camera motion vs software motion detection)..
