PatPend 0 Posted November 30, 2014 Hi all, I'm pretty new to setting up IP cam surveillance so I apologize if this is a noob question... I'm trying to set up a Hikvision DS-7616NI-SE NVR with Grandstream GXV3672_HD and GXV3610_HD cameras. The Hikvision recognizes the Grandstream cameras using ONVIF and the video looks great, but when I try to set up motion detection for the camera, the Hikvision throws an error. It turns out the Hikvision NVR does not do any motion detection processing internally but instead relies on on the camera's own motion detection. The Grandstream cameras are supposed to be ONVIF certified and have built-in motion detection, but for whatever reason the Hikvision doesn't recognize the Grandstream's built-in motion detection. I tried fiddling with some of the camera settings and motion detection looks to be enabled, but the Hikvision is having none of it. Anyone come across this type of problem before and if so was there a solution? I'd rather not have to get rid of the Grandstream cameras and buy all Hikvisions. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Boogieman 1 Posted November 30, 2014 This is a common problem...you should not be mixing and matching nvr and camera brands...its not that simple.. FYI all the nvr's rely on the camera to do the motion detection...they dont have enough processing power to do it on their own..
