Focus on 2 Domes just won't work.

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks,

Ok so today I was out at a shooting range installing dome type security cameras, everything went fine until the last camera. I mounted it on a wall, adjusted zoom to mid point ish, and the tried to focus, the focus moved slightly then nothing, I opened the camera to see if the adjuster-screw-toothed-pillar had come away from the semi-circle adjuster ring, and nope it was still attached, I can move said focus ring manually and STILL no movement on focus. Not so strange maybe for one to have a fault, so I got out the spare cam I had with me, white dome, same type, same procedure and EXACTLY the same thing happened.

If I wasn't bald already, I would be by now, no idea why this happened on 2 separate cams, or what the causes could be.

So I guess I am wondering if anyone's had similar problems?

I know the camera style. I'd need to see a picture of the inside of yours though.

This isn't rare to me. I have had that happen numerous times with many different camera's. Appears that the lens isn't properly matched to the sensor. Only appeared to work properly with a certain distance from the subject. This is more common to me than the it should be.

Why in the world would you resurrect a two year old thread?
