CCS 0 Posted February 21, 2006 Has anyone got any reliability figures for day / night cameras? My manufacturer does not have a figure for it, but my client wants to know how many 2 year spares to order (for his client). Anyone got a feeling for how many spares to buy for a 100 camera project. This would be camera only, not pan/tilt mechanisms and hopefully in a fairly temperate climate. TIA, Cam
griffonsystems 0 Posted February 21, 2006 buy as many spares as their budget will allow i think its safe to go 10%
rory 0 Posted February 21, 2006 Depends on who the manufacturer is.
CollinR 0 Posted February 21, 2006 You can't get an accurate idea without the manufacturer's data, luckliy since you are dealing with qty 100 it will be easy to convert the %s. Really its' like asking about buying 100 cars and how many spares for warantee work. Without specifing Honda or Yugo you will get some whacky results. I have worked for companies close to that 10% mark and companies where you would need a factional camera. I assume this to be really wide with CCTV products especially. EDIT: Took 2 min to type. rory 0 Posted February 21, 2006 Also if its Domes you would want to get alot of spare Dome Covers ... they scratch easy and then bang goes the image quality. Dont forget Spare Power Supplies as well.
JMANOFNVS 0 Posted February 22, 2006 If you want a good warranty go with Ikegami they have a 10 year or Elmo and Ganz have a 5 year.
rory 0 Posted February 22, 2006 Extreme has 5 year also on some products
VST_Man 1 Posted February 22, 2006 don't buy any extra's...................replace them as required (warranty runs out). newer, better cams come out all the time.

cctvqueen 0 Posted February 26, 2006 Security master-- HA>> Harriet and Mario. What an interesting team. Harriet has been in the cctv world for quite some time. However her first few years with NVS she only sold tapes. I have to admit-- the woman has certantly educated herself and is a fantastic sales rep. Mario calls her "mama". He is a kick in the pants. Love 'em both dearly.
