MacACK 0 Posted December 17, 2014 (edited) I am approaching a new install for my self a little backwards. I have a house that is being built and I happen to find myself with some brand new HIKvision equipment. So I am now trying to determine if the equipment on hand would work for my install. Specifically I have: 2023 Camera (x2) 4mm 2632 Camera 2.8-12mm 7716 NVR I would like to utilize this equipment if it makes sense. I am currently planning 3 camera placements on the first floor. I have attached a drawing. I am thinking use the 2632 for #1 and 2023 for #2 and #3. Question - Am I making a critical error in using this equipment? Should I consider other cameras? Does the placement and selection make sense given the attached drawing? The ultimate goal is to provide coverage for entrances with low profile (wife/family friendly) cameras. Your help, insight, and knowledge is greatly appreciated! MA Edited December 17, 2014 by Guest
Digiscan 0 Posted December 17, 2014 Have you thought about moving #2 to the left where the house and left side of patio intersect? it seems like if it's on that corner it could get the deck/patio and still the part of the stairs a person walks up. Otherwise, it's a good spot and perfect on the stairs. I think your driveway cam couldn't be better. 1 & 3 are going to overlap, but it probably can't be helped. You would have to turn 3 pointing the other way, and then it won't get the walkway I assume you have between the front of the house and the garage, plus you lose part of the driveway. My two front cams also significantly intersect and there was just no way around it without placing one camera in a spot that looked awful (although functionally superior). MacACK 0 Posted December 18, 2014 Digiscan - thank you for your response and suggestions! I have attached a rear elevation to explain my thinking on camera #2. Its a bit hard to figure out what is going on from a top down rendering. The intent of #2 is to cover the back entrance, cover the stairs, and get anyone going to the covered part of the deck. but maybe positioning it under the cover portion a bit more away from the house would give a better view. Picture attached. Thanks!
