lorex nvr360 email setup failed

hello fisrt post here,

ive been searching around like crazy for 2 days and haven't found an answer to my question, ive tried every way to setup email notifications for motion detection in my lorex nvr360 and have tried using 3 different email addresses and nothing works things ive tried:

 

Default mode using lorex server= TEST failed

stmp settings for gmail= test failed

stmp setting for live= test failed

 

ive tried every setting I found and the test email never goes thru, somehow like the NVR needs some other network settings somewhere, I can view cameras in my smartphone no problem that tells me it has internet connectivity but email setup wont work, can please some guru chime in? also tried calling lorex but no help either

I seem to remember a thread where it doesn't like a "." in the email name.

 

joe.blow@gmail.com wouldn't work, but joeblow@gmail.com would. Apparently, gmail in particular doesn't care if you have the period in there or not.

 

I may be mis-remembering this, but it's worth a try.

I have this same problem (for months) - did you ever get this resolved? I'd be interested to know how?
