the__target 0 Posted December 24, 2014 New to the forum and just got my first geovision ip camera. I install all the software and it seems to be running great. I set up the webcam server and if I access locally everything seems to work great. Now the issues If I access from a local ip http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxxx:port everything is great, download the ActiveX controls and we are golden If I access using my DDNS address http://mydomain.ddns.net:port I get a log in and I can navigate and view the camera's but if I try and remote play back the page comes up but if I click a video the nothing happens Any help would be greatly appreciated Thank you
the__target 0 Posted December 28, 2014 bump this will make or break my decision on these camera's any ideas or pointers, I have played with the security settings and added it to my trusted sights but still no luck. it happens with safari and firefiox PC and Mac. I am wondering if its a port issue with the firewall Everything else works including all mobile devices I am stumped
the__target 0 Posted December 29, 2014 ok after using wireshark to sniff the traffic there is a port that is not documented that needs to be open also 5552 needs to be open and forwarded. the reason local worked as it did not need to go through my router, once I opened up 5552 all was good again. I hope this helps someone else.
