FearThisInc 0 Posted December 30, 2014 I was reading up on a camera that I am interested in (HIKVision DS-2DF7276-AEL).. While looking at the specs its says that you can use either 24VAC or High-POE.. I was just trying to get some input as to what exactly "high-poe" is.. I am planning in using the HIK Vision NVR for my setup which has a built in 16 channel switch that also has poe output.. What will I need to be able to power the PTZ camera that specifies "high-poe"? Also what do most recommend? Use the cat6 for power or run separate power lines? Thanks for any input..

High PoE = PoE+ There are PoE+ capable switches that you can use and then you only have to run one cat6 cable. How far is the camera going to be from your power supply or switch? FearThisInc 0 Posted December 30, 2014 Thanks for the reply.. This is going to be for a new construction home that is in process of being built.. Depending on how they run the wiring it should be about a 40ft-50ft run.. The camera would be going on the upper left corner of the second floor which would put it at about 20ft high and then to run to the central point where all cameras would meet is about 20 feet..
