ronak 0 Posted January 7, 2015 Hi everybody, I have recently shifted to IP CCTV from Analog CCTV. I am using Hikvision's solutions as of now. I have a problem at my client location This is the network map of installed IP CCTV. I am having issues regarding the DDNS Service. The Dlink 524 router is present at client's residence and Dlink 600 router present at the office nearby. The client is sharing internet from his residence router to his office router via a lan cable (connected from the lan port of residence router to the wan port of his office router.) The internet is working pretty well and there isnt any problem. I hope i am clear Now i have few questions. 1)Is the network diagram correct? As with the installation done 2)Do i need to forward ports at both his locations(routers) to be able view them remotely. 3) Can all the 10 IP cameras be on the same port? the default is 8000. 4)Although i have configured no-ip's free service,it still shows offline in the NVR. 5)How often the DDNS updates the IP? 6)I have forwarded PORT 80 and 8000. As of now I can connect remotely from my laptop from a different location. What other ports do i need to forward? Am i doing the right or am i missing something? abdelm01 0 Posted January 8, 2015 Well i don't think you would have an issue. I would out a switch in between the modem and routers. The reason why I would attach a switch, is to give 2 different Public IP address to the routers in order to have no conflict between the 2 routers and you can have direct access to that NVR just in case the 2 routers conflict with both trying to be admin with giving out DHCP to what ever is connected to them. Also you still will be able to access the NVR if your are connected to the D-link 524 router by going through the Public IP. Also if you want to view the cameras on a mobile device, you would need to port forward the RTSP Port also, make sure you change it to a number higher than port 2000, some ISP block anything lower for realtime viewing. Also it shouldn't matter what the port is on the camera as long as you are connecting the cameras to the NVR locally, which you are, all you would have to do is search for the cameras through the NVR and if you have an NVR that is PLUG and PLAY, you should be able to go into the camera settings and change that to Manual. You can use SADP Tool to discover the cameras and give them their own IP and add the cameras in the Camera settings in the NVR. Boogieman 1 Posted January 8, 2015 You cannot attached a switch between the modem and router unless the account allows for two external ip....many isp's do not provide this unless you pay extra. The "conflict" between the two routers is a non issue...just disable dhcp on one of them..which was most likely already done... Dont forward port 80, use a higher port like 8585..in fact you should not have to forward the http port at all unless you want access to the NVR to make changes..but for video you dont...you also should not have to forward the rtsp port..just 8000/media port. Does your isp provide multiple ip addresses to you? if not this will not work..even if it did, there is zero benefit to you... My ISP does not not provide the multiple IP addresses. abdelm01 0 Posted January 8, 2015 Are you 100% positive you can't get more than 2 IPs. Im pretty sure you can, i haven't seen any ISP that doesn't allow that. I do that for all customers that have Medical Clinics. One goes to there firewall and another go to a separate router for the cameras so there database will not be vulnerable to hacks. If i was you i would grab that 16P Switch and put it in front of the routers and try getting online through each one to see, ISPs don't tell you they give you what ever amount of Public IPs. I have tried connecting with a switch earlier but only the device with which the PPPOE connection is made is connected to the web.
